Giclee Printing & Paper Choices

Giclee Printing, Paper Choices, Museum Quality Canvas, and Canvas Stretching

Giclee Printing

Giclee printing is the process of making fine art prints using digital sources. Your fine art galleries and high-end print shops use this technique to get the highest quality in creating works of art. Here at PosterShopLive, we feel it necessary to go the extra mile to bring you only the best. From start to finish, your new artwork is handled by our experts to ensure 100% satisfaction.

Paper Choices

PosterShopLive uses only the highest grade archival materials for our posters and prints. This is art we are talking about here and only the best will do. From paper to ink, we not only want you to be happy with your purchase, but we also want your purchase to last a lifetime.

Archival Paper Gloss

PosterShopLive uses only the thickest high quality archival paper at 50# (50 pounds which refers to weight based on 5000 sheets). Your average desktop printer uses 20# paper. Your average poster is 36# - that's the cheap flimsy poster you will find everywhere else.

What is "archival"? Archival refers to the fact that this paper is meant to last a lifetime. The ink will not fade. Archival gloss is actually a "satin" finish and not a high gloss. We use a 3-mil laminate for the gloss prints which adds the satin finish and also protects against moisture and damage.

Museum Quality Canvas and Canvas Stretching

PLEASE NOTE: Canvas Stretching Is a Time Consuming Service Usually Taking 7-10 Business Days for Delivery
(domestic delivery, for international shipments delivery 14 - 28 business days depending on location)

Canvas is the cotton material fine artists use to paint their masterpieces. PosterShopLive uses museum quality canvas for all canvas items. Canvas is textured and adds a painterly artistic quality to your new piece of art (See Images Below). It changes a poster or print into work of art.

Canvas is available both unstretched (ships rolled) and stretched. Canvas stretching is the process of pulling the material over a wooden frame (See Images Below). By default, all items are stretched "museum wrap", which means the image is on the front only, with white on the sides, and stapled in the back. Please contact us, if you would like this any other way at the time of purchase.
